Departure- A thought

Wherever I go, my heart goes along
And lingers on the soft remnants of love
Long after I leave the place.
My memories cling to the strong grip of fond happenings
And blissful moments
That I spent with my near and dear.
Time makes the unknown dearer,
Transporting me to a land of dreams,
Which seems real and permanent;
Such that when the time to depart arrives,
My heart aches; my mind goes numb.
The fear of returning to the known land-
To the real world of routine
And face the normal pains of life
Scares me of the departure.
I realize how a dying soul fears,
To leave this mortal dreamy world
And go to the unknown immortal land,
Though it seems blissful and free of pains!
